A set of insightful infographics looking at the rise of palm oil usage and production in India.
I was asked by China Dialogue, a non-profit that explores environmental challenges in China and around the world, to create a series of infographics to accompany an article about palm oil in India. This was a really interesting brief, with lots of the great data to explore.
The end result needed to be fairly simple, in order for the graphics to be quickly decipherable and also work well on social media, but we still managed to create some interesting visualizations including an alluvial diagram, a comparative bubble chart and an annotated map. Another interesting aspect of the project was that each graphic also needed be translated into chinese, which presented a new challenge for me.
