Exploring economics, Earth Day and the environment in the May issue of the world’s leading environmental research magazine.
Earlier this year I led a redesign of Resources magazine, providing an elegant, contemporary aesthetic to showcase their breakthrough research in environmental science and renewable energy.
For the second issue we went all out, as this year marked the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, the Clean Air Act and the Environmental Protection Agency. As well as a celebration of these milestones, the issue is full of important and timely research, all of which are brought to life through clean layouts, engaging infographics and beautiful illustrations.
For this issue we commissioned artwork from some incredible talent, including an impactful collaged cover by Jones & Co, a gorgeous depiction of the clean air act by Yukai Du, and a clever conceptual piece about economics and the environment by Chiara Ghigliazza.
In addition to designing and art directing the magazine in collaboration with Resources Managing Editor, Elizabeth Wason, I also created a number of illustrations as well as a large gatefold data visualization.
